Bernie Traurig Clinic at Anderson Ranch on December 17-18, 2011
The management of Rocky Mountain Show Jumping is pleased at this time to announce that in conjunction with Concorde Stables, John Anderson and Lynne Stephenson will be bringing world renowned rider, coach, and clinician Bernie Traurig to Clagary in December for a special 2 day clinic opened to all interested equestrian enthusiasts. There will be four groups of between 5 and 6 riders per group. The groups will range from 1.10m to 1.40m. Of course stabling will be available in the main barn for all riders in the clinic.

We Are Celebrating Our New Diverse Celebrity Coach Lineup!
While our main focus is and will remain on the jumping disciplines and the promotion of the American Forward Riding System, we have added WESTERN HORSEMANSHIP, REINING & DRESSAGE videos to our vast library. This is in response to requests made by colleges, middle & secondary schools that use our site for educational purposes.
We are excited to announce three new guest coaches that will bring these disciplines to the site. Olympic Gold Medalist Debbie McDonald will teach you basic to advanced dressage techniques. NRHA Hall of Fame Star Tim McQuay and 2011 FEI World Reining Champion Tom McCutcheon will teach topics relating to Western Horsemanship and Reining.
Tim McQuay and Tom McCutcheon, both World-Class Reiners, take you through many of their training techniques that pertain to Western Horsemanship and Reining.
Training Level Dressage
The movements in Training Level are designed to show that the horse is supple, willing to move freely forward while accepting contact with the bit. This is often the starting point of a horse's Dressage career. In this topic, Debbie McDonald and her student take a young horse through exercises appropriate for a horse at this level and practice riding parts of a Training Level Test.
Getting Secure in your Seat And Legs
Val Renihan introduces exercises she uses to develop the strength and security in the seat and legs of her riders.
The Right Canter
In this topic Denny shows us the importance of establishing the "Right" canter. He demonstrates how getting to the right take off point with the proper speed, balance and impulsion, while staying out of the horse's way, allows the horse to jump his best.
Building Confidence in Combinations
Step by step Bernie takes us through a gymnastic that is designed to build the horse's confidence when negotiating combinations. The horse featured in the video has a history of stopping in combinations, but with Bernie's help, she overcomes her anxiety.
Calking Tips
Bernie shares his personal insights and recommendations on calks. His philosophy has been gained through decades of experience with thousands of horses. Then Darren Roberts shows you the proper way to puts calks in and take them out with detailed demonstrations of each step while emphasizing horsemanship and safety
