Late last year, the management of Rocky Mountain Show Jumping announced that Anderson Ranch had been awarded the hosting of the 2011 and 2012 Jump Canada Western Canadian Talent Squad Finals. In 2011, the Western Finals will be held during the Rocky Mountain Classic II CSI 2* Tournament August 24 - 28, 2011.
We also told everyone to stay tuned for some exciting news about the 2011 Finals, as well as some more detailed information about one of Jump Canada's great equine programs......The National Talent Squad!
We are pleased at this time to announce the "EXCITING NEWS!"
Last year, RMSJ management had the chance to speak with our National Team coaches Terrance Millar & Mark Laskin about this special week. The two of them have done a fantastic job with the Canadian Teams they have brought to International competition over the past number of years. The results speak for themselves. Their successes have largely been because they take the time to keep close eye on what Canadian riders at all levels are doing in the sport. Both of them commented to me on how strong they think the younger riders in Western Canada have become.
Both Terrance and Mark will be joining us for the Finals to watch the future stars of our sport from our newly constructed skybox for both of the Grand Prix's being held that week, including the $100,000 TS Grand Prix that will be the playground for the Western Talent Squad Finals. (note that the $100,000 Grand Prix will be built to Talent Squad and CSI2** specs....1.40m - 1.45m)
The reason for this news release is twofold....firstly to announce more details about the finals, and secondly to inform potential participants of a recent letter sent on January 1, 2011. RMSJ sent out a letter to many competitors in the RMSJ database informing them of the special treat at this years finals. Please click here to see the letter! If you have been missed, simply send us an email so that we may add you to the list and make sure you don't miss out on this great weekend.....dedicated to the future stars of our great sport!
We will be doing a special program dedicated to all of the participants in the 2011 Western Canadian Talent Squad Finals that will be aired on the newly created RMSJ tv channel....launching on April 15, 2011. All participants in the Finals will be featured on the program, and will receive their own personal copy of the production.
