RMSJ Winter Training Series Jumper III Concluded:

The third and final of the 2008 RMSJ Winter Training Series Jumper tournaments was completed yesterday, with 130 horses joining us over the easter weekend.

With the WTS Jumper tournaments in the rear view mirror, focus turns again to the hunters, and the final WTS Hunter Tournament scheduled for the April 4-6 weekend. Look for the schedule to be posted to our website next week.

Great news for dads! Don't worry about missing the big games on Saturday. We have installed a big screen TV over the bleachers, and if this past weekend was any indication, there will be more dads attending the tournaments without fear of missing that big game.

We will be airing the basketball games of the NCAA final four live from San Antonio Texas.

Upcoming Bow Valley Classic Information:

We have had numerous inquiries about the 2008 Bow Valley Classics. We will be posting the prize list online on April 1st. Also, BOTH Classics will feature a full range of divisions, INCLUDING hunters.

Last year for the Bow Valley Classics, the management of RMSJ offered a travel bursary to competitors who travelled from the province of BC and attended both of the Bow Valley Classics. It was appreciated by all of the competitors who attended from our neighboring province. In 2008, we thought we would extent the bursary to more of our competitors, so we came up with the RMSJ travel circle. Should you live outside the circle, and attend both of the Bow Valley Classics, RMSJ will be pleased to offer you a $100.00 bursary. Also, your name will go into a draw, and at the end of the tournaments, RMSJ will draw two names from the bunch. Should your name be one of the lucky ones, your hotel tab will be paid for, courtesy of RMSJ. For more details, click here

ASJA 2008 North American Young Riders Information:

The North American Young Riders Championship is an international event held annually in the month of August. Teams are invited from each Canadian Province, the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean to compete for team and individual medals. The Championships are designed to mirror the competition format used at the Olympics and Pan American Games. The objective of the national and the international governing bodies involved with the Young Riders Championships is to introduce and prepare Young Riders for international competitions and FEI rules.

Alberta had very successful results in 2007, the ASJA is again planning to send a team to represent Alberta in 2008. The ASJA is extremely proud and extends congratulations to Jaclyn Duff, Chris Surbey, and Hayley Alfonso on their successful results at the 2007 NAYRC.  Alberta received a Silver Team Medal.

The 2008 North American Junior Young Rider’s Championship (NAJYRC) will be held in Parker, Colorado from July 30 to August 3, 2008.  Information Packages have not yet been finalized and sent to the National Federations.
