RMSJ Winter Training Series Jumper III: The third and final of the 2008 RMSJ Winter Training Series Jumper tournaments is set to commence this Saturday. The updated schedule for the weekend has been posted to our website. Great news for dads! At our last tournament, while passing out 250 bags of free popcorn, one of our exhibitors suggested that we had a couple of sets mounted for the dads to be able to watch TSN during the day. We do pay attention to our exhibitors, and we are pleased to announce that we now have a large flat panel screen hanging from the balcony with easy view from the stands. Don't worry dads, you can still come to see the kids ride and not miss any of your precious sports weekend. Another suggestion from our competitors was an ATM, and we are pleased to announce that for your convenience, we have installed a Direct Cash ATM. This weekend, Overall Winter Training Series Jumper championships will be presented, and remember that all of the WTS tournaments are part of the ASJA 3 Star Series. In fact, the HITS Desert Circuit's all-time leading money winner now has 104 victory gallops under his belt, six of which are from this season at Thermal. But Spooner's blue-ribbon performance from Sunday's $200,000 Invitational Grand Prix of the Desert marks the single largest purse that he has won to date: COMPLETE STORY Upcoming Bow Valley Classic Information: We have had numerous inquiries about the 2008 Bow Valley Classics. We will be posting the prize list online on April 1st. Also, BOTH Classics will feature a full range of divisions, INCLUDING hunters. Last year for the Bow Valley Classics, the management of RMSJ offered a travel bursary to competitors who travelled from the province of BC and attended both of the Bow Valley Classics. It was appreciated by all of the competitors who attended from our neighboring province. In 2008, we thought we would extent the bursary to more of our competitors, so we came up with the RMSJ travel circle. Should you live outside the circle, and attend both of the Bow Valley Classics, RMSJ will be pleased to offer you a $100.00 bursary. Also, your name will go into a draw, and at the end of the tournaments, RMSJ will draw two names from the bunch. Should your name be one of the lucky ones, your hotel tab will be paid for, courtesy of RMSJ. For more details, click here ASJA 2008 Membership & Calendar: We thought we would send a note to remind all Alberta competitors to renew their ASJA membership for 2008. As most of you know, the ASJA introduced the Five & Three Star Series in 2007. The series does require a declaration by ASJA members, and there is a box to check on the 2008 membership form. There is also a spot on the membership form for riders to declare for the Alberta Select Riders Program. Please take a few minutes to fill out your 2008 ASJA membership, and send it into the address located on the form. Remember, all RMSJ tournaments are a part of the ASJA Star Series, and points will not be counted towards the year end championships, unless you are an ASJA member and have declared yourself as a Three or Five Star rider.
